The Middle Years

ALBANY COUNTY — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Albany County and the Voorheesville Public Library will present a virtual four-part education series called The Middle Years for parents and caregivers of children from ages 5 to 10.

The program will be hosted through Zoom on Thursdays, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 5, 12, and 19, and Dec. 3.

This researched-based parenting program will assist participants, who are experts on their families, in developing a deeper understanding of how their personal and parenting knowledge and behavior affects their children.

The program will also include resources and information relevant to the impact of COVID-19 on parenting and children, including strategies to better manage challenges in the current school year for remote, hybrid, or in-person learners.

Topics include strategies to manage parent and child stress, understanding parenting styles, raising responsible children with positive discipline strategies, improving family communication, and strengthening family relationships.

Advance registration is required with the Voorheesville Public Library at, or with CCE Albany: text/phone 518.598.9937 or email
