The Middle Years
ALBANY COUNTY — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Albany County and the Voorheesville Public Library will present a virtual four-part education series called The Middle Years for parents and caregivers of children from ages 5 to 10.
The program will be hosted through Zoom on Thursdays, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 5, 12, and 19, and Dec. 3.
This researched-based parenting program will assist participants, who are experts on their families, in developing a deeper understanding of how their personal and parenting knowledge and behavior affects their children.
The program will also include resources and information relevant to the impact of COVID-19 on parenting and children, including strategies to better manage challenges in the current school year for remote, hybrid, or in-person learners.
Topics include strategies to manage parent and child stress, understanding parenting styles, raising responsible children with positive discipline strategies, improving family communication, and strengthening family relationships.
