Church host first trunk-or-treat event

To the Editor:

On Sunday, Oct. 29, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., the New Scotland Presbyterian Church at 2010 New Scotland Rd. in Slingerlands, will host our very first “Trunk or Treat” event!

All children are welcome for trick-or-treating; they will circulate among cars in the parking lot where they will find car trunks decorated just like porches of the community. Those in the cars will hand out to the trick-or-treaters.

The New Salem Volunteer Fire Department will also be there with its fire truck! All are welcome to participate.

Also, mark your calendars for the Annual Turkey Supper at New Scotland Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join us and enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal with all the trimmings.

There will also be special sale booths with baked goods and fancy treats. The serving is family-style and no reservations are taken. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Take-outs are available. We are accessible to people with handicaps. For further information, please call the church office at (518) 439-6454.
