Robert Thomson memorial service

GUILDERLAND — Robert Jewett Thomson, a civil engineer and had a passion for sailing, died on Sunday, July 17, 2016. He was 89.

A memorial service will be held for him on Sunday, Oct. 23,  at 2 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church at 405 Washington Ave. in Albany. All are invited to attend.

    BERNE — Dennis “Denny” Robert Porter of Berne, a mail clerk who loved his family and who found joy in simple pleasures, died on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, at The Grand at Guilderland. He was 68.

    He was born on Oct. 30, 1956, a son of the late Robert Porter and the late Esther (née Lee) Porter.

    She was the beloved wife of the late Victor G. Ross and cherished partner of Mark Bremser.

    ALBANY — Ted Klarsfeld, who ran the family business, had a zest for life and found the greatest joy in his daughter.

    He died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, at Ellis Hospital. He was 71.
