Learn how Knox moved cannons during Revolution

To the Editor:

Have you ever wondered why the town of Knox was named Knox?

As part of the New York State Path Through History weekend, the Knox Historical Society will present the program “Henry Knox and his Noble Train of Artillery” on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. in the Knox Town Hall.

Learn how Henry Knox moved cannons from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston in the winter of 1775-76 and forced the British to leave the city of Boston in the early days of the American Revolution.

We hope you can join us in learning about an early episode in the American Revolution and an early chapter in the life of our town’s namesake. Refreshments will be served.
