Why waste these gifts?

To the Editor:
Now that the days are getting shorter and nature puts on her most colorful clothing before the predominantly white robes come out, we wonder: “Where has summer, where has the year gone?”

Time certainly appears to be moving faster and faster as we get older, which of course is just our perception, knowing that our time on this Earth is getting shorter.

With so much negative news all around us and ever increasing hostility between our population in general, worldwide, lacking understanding and even trying to make the best of situations, listening, etc., etc., etc., I thought I would try something on a local level, perhaps just here on the Hill, a discussion-group of anyone that has concerns and would like to have our lives become more pleasant again.

Any subject could be discussed, different opinions voiced, but in a civilized manner — no screaming, yelling, accusations.

There still have to be many people around that truly care and believe that the average person is kind, understanding, loving, and giving.

The willingness to compromise, perhaps overshadowed by some people who truly believe their way is the only one, and everything else is automatically discarded and overruled.

How would you go about such an endeavor? Any suggestions?

People who may wish to form such a group can reach me by phone at 518-872-2520 or by email at gudrun.bellerjeau@gmail.com.

Most changes that really matter come from one person, or a small group of people that seek a peaceful co-existence.

We are on this Earth for such a short time, and have been given such a beautiful country and world. Why waste these gifts?
