GUILDERLAND — Kerry Ann Williams — a mother, teacher, and active volunteer who loved traveling — died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022. She was 85.

She was born on May 28, 1937 to Vivia and Charles White. She grew up in Rotterdam and graduated from Draper High School.

“In 1962, Kerry Ann married Harold Williams and they raised their three children in Guilderland,” her family wrote in a tribute. “Hal and Kerry Ann enjoyed spending time with their family.

“While married with three children, she continued her education at the State University of New York at Albany where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. She worked as a business teacher at the Hebrew Academy and Sawyer School. She also substituted at Guilderland High School.

“Kerry Ann was an active volunteer at the McKownville United Methodist Church, St. Peter’s Alcohol Rehabilitation Center, the Capital District YMCA, and taught typing at Albany County’s jail. She was the recipient of the Capital District YMCA’s President’s Award in 2003.

“Kerry Ann loved to travel. She went with her husband, Hal, on over 40 cruises all over the world. With her young family, she spent many summers cruising and camping on the islands of Lake George. Later in life, you could find her at her summer home of 30 years on Cape Cod, soaking up the sun at the beach and spending time with Hal, her children, and her eight grandchildren.”

Kerry Ann Williams is survived by her husband, Harold Lewis Williams; son, Kevin Williams; daughters, Kelly Visker and her husband, Christopher, and Kerri-Lynn Kimner and her husband, Stephen; grandchildren; Nathan and Stephanie Kimner, Ashley, Grant (Lily Hughes), and Zachary Visker, Kyle, Kiera, and Kayleigh Williams; sister, Retalee DuPont, brother-in-law Kenneth Mortensen Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.

All are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at McKownville United Methodist Church on Friday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m.
