Fatal crash in Duanesburg

DUANESBURG — A driver died after a Route 20 crash in Duanesburg on Thursday morning.

A 2007 BMW sedan was traveling south on McGuire School Road and failed to make a complete stop as it turned left onto Route 20, hitting a 2014 Dodge Caravan traveling west, according to a release from State Police.

The 17-year-old driver of the BMW was issued a traffic citation for failing to stop at a stop sign.

The driver of the Dodge, Barbara A. Bryant, age 63, of Schenevus, was taken to Ellis Hospital in Schenectady where she died of her injuries.

Her passenger, Robert Gaudino, age 36, of Burlington Flats, was transported to Albany Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.

The driver of the BMW along with one passenger, Kodah Schepisi, age 16, of Albany, and a dog, were transported to Albany Medical Center. Both occupants are listed in stable condition. One passenger sustained an eye injury that is expected to result in the loss of vision.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
