Eliminating facts that get in the way

To the Editor:

The Trump administration continues its efforts to solve the significant problems the nation faces by eliminating any information or individuals that might get in the way of its objectives.

Continuing a trend, Tulsi Gabbard, director of the Office of National Intelligence, has decided a good way to determine the risks that the nation faces in the future is to get rid of the group within her agency that produced a document every four years titled “Global Trends.”

Previously thought of by both Republicans and Democrats as an objective report, “Global Trends” provided data and analysis of threats the nation may face in the future. Ms. Gabbard killed the program essentially because it just does not align with the world view of the Trump administration.

This decision is only one of several that Director Gabbard has initiated that severely undercuts this nation’s ability to prepare for threats and/or combat the unsettling efforts by foreign nations to manipulate public opinion and our elections.

This action aligns with the administration’s unrelenting effort to eliminate any opinion or facts that they do not agree with under the guise that the information is “woke.” It will be a sorry day when this nation is awoken by an attack that we were unprepared to meet.
