Thoughts on being stuck at home during COVID

To the Editor:

Some folks are so eager to get out of their house, even get out of town, that they are paying good money for a flight to nowhere. In Sidney, Australia, a flight was announced that would fly low over the great barrier reef and return to the same airport — it completely sold out in 10 minutes.

For those feeling trapped at home, consider residents of conquered European countries during World War I and World War II. Many families hid in their basements, attics, barns, or forests. They had no TV, internet, convenient bathrooms, clean running water, and very little food.

That may put our current circumstances in a new light. We are so blessed to live in this country.
