Learn about tick-borne diseases

To the Editor:

St. Boniface Episcopal Church, with the Lyme Action Network, will host Professor Holly Ahern, who will speak about What You Need to Know about Lyme and Other Tick-Borne Diseases.

She’ll talk on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. at the church, which is located at 5148 Western Turnpike in Guilderland.

Professor Ahern is co-founder and vice president of the Lyme Action Network. She serves as science advisor to a number of other tick borne-disease and advocacy organizations around the country as well.

She was recently appointed to the United States Department of Health and Human Services Working Group on Lyme and Tick-borne Diseases Subcommittee for Testing and Diagnostics, where she is working with experts representing all perspectives to develop better solutions for the victims of tick-borne diseases.

This lecture is one in a series of timely topics being sponsored and presented by St. Boniface Episcopal Church. It is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
