32nd Annual Traffic Safety Awareness Weekend will be held at Crossgates
GUILDERLAND — The Traffic Safety Awareness Show is set for this weekend, Sept. 24 and 25, at Crossgates Mall during normal mall hours. A check to see if child safety seats are properly installed will run on Saturday only in the overflow lot on the Western Avenue side of the mall parking lot from 11a.m. 2 p.m.
At last year’s event, 152 child safety seats were inspected and only five were installed correctly.
Also, there will be interactive traffic safety displays throughout the lower level of Crossgates Mall throughout the weekend. The topics covered will include child passenger safety, dangers of drunk and drugged driving, school bus safety, motorcycle safety, pedestrian safety, bicycle safety, and responsible driving.
The event is sponsored by the Albany County Department of Public Works-Traffic Safety Education Program.
