They gave their time and help to everyone

To the Editor:

The Berne Democratic Party is sponsoring a pig roast to honor dedicated community members Alan and Millie Zuk and Gerry O’Malley. This event is on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Maple on the Lake beach and is free and open to the public.

Alan, Millie, and Gerry have been active in the Hilltowns for many years — as members of the fire department, the ambulance squad, town government, or involved in church organization and activities, they gave their time and help to everyone, selflessly. 

I hope that everyone will come out to show appreciation for all that these wonderful community members have done for the town of Berne.
