Frats deserve recognition for good works

Resting from their labors, University at Albany students who belong to Kappa Sigma pose after collecting roadside trash Saturday on Carman Road in Guilderland.

To the Editor:

It seems the only time a fraternity makes the news these days, it is because of something horrible that happened. The community service many fraternities regularly undertake never makes the news.

Kappa Sigma fraternity from the University at Albany is case in point. The good brothers of Kappa Sig clean a portion of Carman Road in Guilderland twice a month during the school year as a community service.  It would be nice if they received recognition for their effort.
