Friends of VPL is grateful for supportive community and volunteers
To the Editor:
After a wonderful season of Encore Books, our used books and media sales, which run spring to late summer in the sheds next to the Voorheesville Public Library, the Friends of the Library held its annual Fall Book Sale this past weekend, and it was a tremendous success!
We’re grateful to our very supportive community, which donated books, jigsaw puzzles, DVDs, and CDs throughout the summer to stock our Encore Books shelves and carts, and to the generous bakers who provided delicious baked goods for our bake sale. We’re also grateful to Karie Jean’s Closet for contributing to our very popular raffles!
In addition, we’re thankful for the members of our community and those who came from far and wide to attend our Fall Book Sale. The funds we raised will go a long way in our efforts to support our library and to help the library provide a wide variety of special programs for the community.
Finally, we want to thank our Encore Books / Fall Book Sale Coordinators, Kathy and Cheryl, who work tirelessly all year to ensure that our offerings each week and at the Fall Book Sale will meet the needs and interests of our patrons, and to our dozens of wonderful volunteers who all gave up part of their Tuesdays throughout the summer and/or part of the weekend to work alongside us to make the sales a success!
This wouldn’t happen without all of you. Thank you!
We look forward to seeing our “regulars” next spring! In the meantime, we promise to keep our FOL Bookshelves in the VPL lobby stocked with a rotating selection of books and puzzles, which you can purchase anytime the library is open. And we look forward to seeing you at our popular Winter Boutique Dec. 5 and 6. More information to come.
