Walter to speak at Westerlo church

WESTERLO — Robert T. Walter, a representative of Chosen People Ministries, will speak at the first Baptist church of Westerlo on Sunday, Oct. 20, during the 9:30 a.m. worship. His topic is “Salvation in Messiah Jesus.”

Chosen Peoples Ministries was founded in 1894 by Leopold Cohn, a Hungarian rabbi who came to believe that Jesus was the Messiah of Israel, and has grown into a worldwide ministry, according to a release from the organization; the ministry stresses the Jewish roots of the Christian faith.

Robert Walter and his wife, Joanna Walte,r describe themselves as “missionaries to the Jewish people.” and are both on staff with the Chosen People Ministries. 

Robert Walter completed his seminary studies at the Charles Feinberg Center for Messianic Jewish Studies in 2013 and now serves as a congregational leader, the director of the Brooklyn branch of the Chosen People Ministries, and teaches first-year Greek at the seminary.
