BETHLEHEM — A Rensselaer man on parole was charged on Sept. 14 with burglarizing two Chinese restaurants in Delmar a month ago.

John Whiteford, 41, was arrested at his home by Bethlehem Police, accused of burglarizing the Great Wall Chinese Kitchen at 392 Kenwood Ave. and Empire Wok at 159 Delaware Ave. on Aug. 13, according to a release from the police.

Whiteford was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, both felonies, and two counts of petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
