Come to BKW to meet a great American, Ben Franklin

To the Editor:

“A penny saved is a penny earned.”  “A stitch in time saves nine.”  “Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”

These quotes are all attributed to one of the Founding Fathers, a man who knew heartbreak and hardship and hard work. He also was a scientist at heart and experimented with electricity, invented bifocals and the armonica, and discovered the Gulf Stream, among other accomplishments.

The Knox Historical Society is pleased to provide an opportunity to hear this fascinating American tell his story in person on Friday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. at the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Secondary School auditorium.

Paul Stillman will assume the persona of Benjamin Franklin and present a first-person interpretation of his life story. He will take questions from the audience and guests are encouraged to take a selfie photo with him.

This program is a collaboration with the BKW Social Studies Department and is made possible by a grant from the BKW Parent-Teacher Association. Admission is free, and the public is invited to come meet this great American!
