ALTAMONT — Theresa (née Varin) Schager, born in Chazy Lake, New York, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024.

“Theresa’s warmth, kindness, and love will be remembered fondly by all who knew her,” her family wrote in a tribute. “Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.”

She was the beloved mother of Diane Cyr (David) and Dennis Schager (Kort), and cherished grandmother to Varanee, Logan, Colin, and Kierra.

She is also survived by her brothers, Leon, Norman, Paul, Roger, and Vivian, as well as her sisters, Alberta, Constance, and Priscilla.

Her husband, Rudolph, died before her, as did her mother, Dollie; her father, Vivian; and her siblings, Gene, George, Robert, Rufus, Theodore, and Agnes.

Theresa also leaves behind numerous beloved nieces and nephews who will miss her deeply.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, Sept. 16, from 11 a.m. to noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral service will begin at noon at the funeral home with interment following at Memory Gardens.
