State Police charge Berne man with criminal gun possession

A Berne man was arrested in Clifton Park last week after, police say, he “brandished and pointed” a handgun at someone he knew.

Wayne D. Miller, 24, pulled the gun after 8 p.m. on Sept. 6 during a verbal dispute in Wilton and fled the scene before police arrived, according to a press release from the New York State Police.

He was tracked down with the help of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, and the weapon and other items belonging to Miller were found separately in a wooded area nearby, the release says. 

Miller has been charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony; and second-degree menacing in the second degree, a misdemeanor. 

Miller was arraigned at the Wilton Town Court, the release said, and remanded to Saratoga County’s jail in lieu of $5,000 cash, $10,000 bond, or a $100,000 partially secured bond.
