People want a local government that focuses on issues

To the Editor:
Election season is upon us. I am so excited about the future of our town!

Our team’s focus is now on meeting as many people as possible by visiting our neighbors door-to-door. We want to learn your concerns and your ideas for our town going forward.

We are aware that historically, political campaigns can descend into abusive rhetoric, embellishments, rumors, and accusations. The Democratic candidates will not be engaging in this type of conduct, nor will we be responding to it.

When we visited many of our neighbors during the election primary, the number-one issue that people mentioned to us was their hope that the arguing and lack of communication that has become representative of Berne town government comes to an end.

People want a local government that focuses on the issues affecting our town and the future of the day-to-day lives of its residents. That is what we will be talking about.

If there is something you would like to know about our team or our platform, please check us out on our Facebook page: Democratic Candidates for the Town of Berne or on our website:   https://bernenydemocrats.com.

I look forward to meeting you all in the coming weeks. Be safe.

Peggy Christman

Democratic candidate for

Berne town supervisor
