Bruce Fenstamacher

Bruce Fenstamacher

SCHENECTADY — Bruce Fenstamacher, in his 75 years, often changed jobs and homes, but he had one constant in his life — he took care of stray cats.

“He loved stray cats,” said his daughter, Jennifer Snyder. “He always took them in. He had two currently.”

Mr. Fenstamacher was raised in Colonie and lived in Schenectady at the time of his death on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016. Over the years, he had had jobs ranging driving a taxicab to working for the state, Mrs. Snyder said.

In recent years, he spent quite a bit of time on the computer, she said. “He tried to learn his way around the internet.”

Bruce Fenstamacher is survived by his sister, Diana Miller of Colonie, and by his two nieces, Kristina Miller and Rebecca Miller, both also of Colonie.

He is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer Snyder of Guilderland; his granddaughter, Kayla Staples, and her husband, Brett Staples; and by his great-granddaughter, Kylie Staples — all of Chicopee, Massachusetts.
