We have a treasure trove of used books and electronic media

To the Editor:

We are excited to announce the Grand Re-opening of Encore! Books at the Voorheesville Public Library on Friday, Sept. 14.  Friends of the Library volunteers are busily stocking every nook and cranny of the enlarged and enhanced books sheds. We have a treasure trove of used books and electronic media for all ages.

Our annual Friends of the Library Used Book Sale will run from Friday, Sept. 14, through Sunday, Sept. 16,  at the Prospect Road side of the library. We are selling gently used adult fiction and non-fiction; books for young readers, including fantasy and science fiction; and books for beginning readers, preschoolers, toddlers, and babies.

We have audiobooks, music on CDs, movies on DVDs and a bake sale. The widely-popular themed basket raffle will be offered again!

Our Friday Members Only preview begins at 3 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m.  We will have our Grand Re-opening Ceremony at 6 p.m. Memberships are available at the sale. The general public is invited to join the sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This is the 29th year the Friends of the Library have held a used book sale. The money raised is used for the library’s many activities. These have included summer reading programs for young adults, purchase discounts for book club participants, new computer chairs, musicians performances, and hospitality at many events.

Stock up on good reading before the snow flies — come to browse the thousands of books and electronic media that will be available. And come support your local library!

See you there!
