Parmenters celebrate 50 years of matrimony

Robert M. and Marion B. Parmenter

Robert M. (“Bob”) and Marion B. Parmenter of Voorheesville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 13, 2016. Bob Parmenter, son of Maurice and Jane Parmenter, and Marion Badgley, daughter of Jerry G. and Elizabeth P. Badgley, exchanged wedding vows at the Voorheesville First United Methodist Church in 1966. The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Walter Taylor.

Bob and Marion have made their home at Hickory Ridge Farms, where she grew up in Voorheesville, for most of their years together. Their daughter Heather and her husband Mike live in West Chester, Pennsylvania; and their son Jerry and his wife, Monica, live in Voorheesville.

Bob and Marion both retired from teaching in 1998 and have been heavily involved in the New Scotland Historical Association, the Voorheesville United Methodist Church, and the Voorheesville Library.

They enjoy chasing, or being chased by their four grandchildren, Jaynie and Ellie Parmenter, and Anna and Evan Reiffer, and spending time at their family camp in the Adirondacks. Their family and friends send their love, congratulations and best wishes as they celebrate this amazing milestone.
