BPD: Two men in their fifties target Tastee Freez ATM
BETHLEHEM — Two men — one homeless and the other from Albany — tried to steal an automated teller machine from Jim’s Tastee Freez at 58 Delaware Ave. in Delmar, according to a release from the Bethlehem Police.
Police responded to the call for a larceny in progress on Monday, Sept. 4, just after midnight, the release said, and took one suspect into custody and then found the other a short time later on Delaware Avenue.
William C. Kennedy, age 51 and homeless, and John Carroll, age 54 of Albany, were each charged with second-degree criminal mischief and third-degree grand larceny — both felonies — as well as with fifth-degree conspiracy, a misdemeanor.
Both men were arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court. Carroll was released on his own recognizance and Kennedy was remanded to Albany County’s jail with no bail. A return date has been set for Sept. 7 in Bethlehem Town Court.
