Free water-test kits

ALBANY COUNTY — County residents with private wells can find out what is in their water.

The Albany County Soil and Water Conservation District is giving out free home water-analysis kits.

They may be picked up at 24 Martin Road in Voorheesville at these times:

— Mondays, Sept. 14 and 21 from 9 until 11 a.m.; and

— Fridays, Sept. 18 and 25 from 2 until 4 p.m.

Each participant will complete a short survey with questions regarding current water-testing practices.

Masks are required when picking up a test kit.

Supplies are limited; just one kit is given out per household.
