Free CPR workshop set for September 13
GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Center Rehabilitation and Extended Care Facility, in collaboration with the American Heart Association, will offer a free “CPR Anytime” training workshop for local residents Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 6 to 7 p.m. The training will take place at the facility at 428 Route 146 in Guilderland Center.
The non-certifying CPR program for anyone of any age who wants to learn basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills, choking relief, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) awareness.
Participant will receive CPR Anytime kits so that they can share the skills with close family and friends. The kit includes a manikin, instructional DVD, and pamphlet.
“Though most cardiac arrests occur at home, they can happen to anyone, anywhere and at any time,” said Josh Gurock, administrator of the Guilderland Center Rehabilitation and Extended Care Facility, in a release. “Our training session takes approximately one hour but its value will last a lifetime.”
The Guilderland Center facility is run by The Grand Healthcare System, which has five similar operations at sites across New York State.
