Siblings are your best friend

To the Editor:

So you’re in your room, all nice and quiet, and all of sudden your little sister comes running in your room and screams, Will you play with me — Pleeeeease?”

She's making you really mad right now, but she's only 5 years old and she’s so cute. Right now, you probably think that your brothers and sisters are the most annoying things on the planet, but, when you get older, you will think differently about them.

You won't think they're so annoying anymore or you won't think they're constantly bugging you. I have two sisters myself and, trust me, I think they are annoying, too, but when you are older you guys will need each other.

In a household with more than one kid, there are bound to be some problems. Brothers and sisters borrow stuff and don't always return it in the greatest condition. Younger kids sometimes feel like the older kids get to do whatever they want. Older kids think that the baby of the family gets the most attention. In different families, that's true, but all families are different and they also have different rules.

I believe that kids who have siblings behave better because they learn to share with one another and listen to each other. An only child doesn't have to share with someone else.

Also, an only child gets whatever he wants because his parents really can't say no since there's not another kid they have to worry about.

Also, if you have a sibling, when you want someone to play with, you don't have to walk down the street to ask somebody; all you have to do is walk four steps and there you are. An only child doesn't have someone to play with unless she has a pet or something like that.

And last, you might need your siblings when you are older, like when you are going out and you need a babysitter; all you have to do is call them and they will be there. Also, they are there if you need help at home or something like that.

So when you get older and you look back on when you were little you might say, “Why did I fight so much with my siblings?” Those are all reasons why you need your siblings when you're older because, although siblings can be a pain, they are an important part of your life!
