Voorheesville schools foundation holds fall fundraiser

VOORHEESVILLE — The Voorheesville Community and School Foundation is holding a fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Indian Ladder Farms Cidery and Brewery.

The event will feature craft beers, cider, wine, appetizers, dinner, and dessert. Live music will be provided by Becca Frame and the Tall boys,

Auctions and raffles will help raise funds for the not-for-profit organization which didn’t hold a major fundraiser last year. Organizers say reserves are at a 10-year low.

The foundation recently awarded a grant of $1,600 to the Friends of the Voorheesville Playground to cover the final costs of the community playground built this year behind Voorheesville Elementary School, bringing the foundation’s total playground contributions to $26,600.

The playground cost close to a quarter-of-a-million dollars and replaced one that was 25 years old.
