Safety improved at rail-trail crossing

To the Editor:

Over the last month, the Albany County Highway Department has done a great job improving safety conditions at the rail-trail crossing at Voorheesville Avenue and Grove Street.

The addition of several new signs, enhanced road-paint scheme, and above all a speed reader that has already proven itself, I only hope the temporary speed-reader transitions into a permanent one like the one near the Voorheesville Public Library.

With that said, a thank you goes out to the road crews and the behind-the-scenes people like the supervisor, mechanics, and clerical staff that keep the process in motion. And a special thank-you to the Enterprise for giving the public a podium to voice our concerns and maybe save a life.
