Rail trail closed at night for bridge work

ALBANY COUNTY — As the Cherry Avenue bridge in Bethlehem is being worked on, the Albany County Helderberg-Hudson Rail will be closed at night during two different periods in September.

The first starts on Monday, Aug. 31, and ends on Thursday, Sept. 3. The second period starts on Tuesday, Sept. 8, and concludes on Friday, Sept. 11.

Work will be done between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. and the trail will be closed during those times.

Spotters and barricades will be in place to make sure no one is going under the bridge while work is in progress.
