Dorado coaches at Sage
GUILDERLAND — Taylor Dorado, of Guilderland, has joined the women’s soccer coaching staff at Russell Sage College.
As a Guilderland High School student, she had been chosen as the 2015 Section II Class AA Goalkeeper of the Year, as well as a Third Team All-State and Suburban Council pick.
A 2020 graduate of Siena College, Dorado arrives at Sage this fall and will serve as the graduate assistant coach for the women’s soccer program under Head Coach Garrett Cobb.
Dorado, who earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology with a minor in Spanish this past May, excelled on the pitch for the Saints. She graduated after earning four varsity letters and establishing career marks for most minutes played in goal (6,678:07), while also setting the mark for most career shutouts with 21.
A 19-game starter as a senior in 2019, she also wrapped her collegiate career having posted a 1.17 career goals against average, while finishing third all-time with her 365 career saves.
Dorado has worked as an assistant coach with the Latham Circle Soccer Club with the U16 team, while also working as a goalkeeping coach for the Latham Circle Soccer Club. She has also worked as an assistant goalkeeping coach with the East Greenbush Soccer Club.
As a junior at Siena, she was honored at the MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year and also earned First Team All-MAAC selection. She was also rewarded for her outstanding season with a spot on the 2018 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Region First Team and MAAC All-Academic Team and was an Academic Honor Roll honoree.
She tied her own program single-season record with four MAAC Defensive Player of the Week awards and also set the Siena single-season record with nine shutouts. In 2018, she ranked second in the MAAC and 29th nationally in shutouts. She also led the MAAC and ranked 13th nationally with 108 saves on the season.
As a sophomore, she was named to the All-MAAC Second Team and the MAAC All-Tournament Team in 2017, while also excelling in the classroom having also earned a spot on the MAAC Academic Honor Roll list.
