Spencer Sisson

EAST BERNE — Spencer Sisson of East Berne, an outgoing man who owned an insurance company, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018. He was 43.

“Spencer loved spending time with his daughters and cherished every moment with them,” his family wrote in a tribute.

Born in Albany on July 30, 1975, he graduated from Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Siena College. He owned his own insurance company for many years.

“He loved to hunt with his family and friends,” his family wrote. “He was very outgoing and loved to socialize.”

He is survived by his loving daughters, Skylar Sisson, Amber Sisson, and Gracie Sisson; his loving mother, Christine Hayes-Sisson; his brothers, Clyde Sisson III, Kevin Sisson, and Mitchell Sisson and his wife, Katie; his sister, April Sisson; his aunt Lillian Sisson-Chrysler and her husband, Roger, and his aunt Cindy Hayes-Diamond. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews and many cousins.

His father, Clyde Sisson Jr., died before him.  

Calling hours were held on Aug. 14 at the Fredendall Funeral Home in Altamont with interment in South Berne Cemetery. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the South Berne Congregational Christian Church in Berne.
