Donations can make a difference in the lives of veterans

To the Editor:

We need your help!

The Boyd Hilton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7062 and Excelsior College are joining forces to help Totes of Hope. You can bring hope to a veteran in need by donating from the list below and dropping off the items at one of these locations:

— The Boyd Hilton VFW Post at 11 Mill St. in Altamont between the hours of 2 and 7 p.m.;

—  Excelsior College at 7 Columbia Circle in Albany between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.; or

— Your local Red Cross.

The donated items will be packaged into a tote bag and then delivered to veterans who may be homeless or living in local care facilities.

All of these items must be new: socks, combs and brushes, shaving cream, toothbrushes, body powder, disposable razors, dental floss, body lotion, deodorant, lip balm, fleece throw, aftershave, tissues, hand wipes, shampoo, a personal note or card of thanks, a deck of cards, body wash, liquid soap, feminine hygiene products, hand sanitizer, and a tote.

With your help and donations, we can make a difference in the lives of veterans in need. Please drop off your donated items by Sept. 23. For more information, please call (518) 861-8323
