Joseph Francis Gaglioti 

GUILDERLAND — Joseph Francis Gaglioti, a Vietnam veteran who worked for National Grid, died peacefully on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. He was 78.

He was born on Oct. 7, 1946, in Albany, the son of Anthony and Rose (née Cannone) Gaglioti of Altamont. He graduated from Guilderland High School in 1965.

He was an Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War in 1966. In 2011, he retired from National Grid where he was employed for 42 years.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Lisa (née Norris) Gaglioti. He is the devoted father to Ashley R. Gaglioti (fiancé Brandon J. Meir) of Guilderland.

He is also survived by his siblings and their spouses, Mary Gay Wood (late Andy), Ben Norris (Mary), Judy Polley (David), and John Norris (Jane). He is survived, too, by his close cousin, Ronald Gaglioti, (Barbara) who was like a brother to him, along with his nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His parents died before him, as did his sister, Mary Ann (Helmer) Lenz.

“We would like to thank the Veterans Association home care and Community Hospice,” his family wrote in a tribute.

Services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Christ the King Church at 20 Sumter Ave. in Guilderland with a visitation being held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. A funeral mass will begin at 11 a.m. with burial to follow the mass at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
