To the Editor:

Imagine the end of the 1800s and all that it entailed. This era is what the Altamont Fair is celebrating this year.

Please join us in celebrating our first fair, which took place in 1893 — 125 years ago. Come dressed in 1890s costume and partake of our exciting anniversary fair.

We will be dressed in costumes as we give tours of all seven museums. The tours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, beginning with our new Fair History Museum that started in 2017. Come see 1890s photos, memorabilia, a timeline of the fair, and plaques, at the Fair History Museum.

Also, all museums will have both 1890s themes and free booklets about the seven museums (as well as a tour map).

On Saturday, from 1 to 4 p.m., please join us for Collin Miller’s Vintage Baseball exhibit, which will have vintage baseball displays and souvenirs. This will be held outside (weather permitting) in back of the Fair History and Circus museums; if it rains it will be held inside the Fair History Museum.

On Sunday, at 1 and 3 p.m., Tom Jeram will present “Casey at the Bat!” This also will be held outside (weather permitting) in back of the Fair History and Circus museums; if it rains, it will be held inside the Fair History Museum.

We look forward to seeing you at the fair to help us celebrate our 125th Anniversary!
