Costco can’t happen soon enough

To the Editor:

It seems a year ago that we had the public comment period for Crossgates Costco proposal but it was mid-May.  It’s been only a few months, and I am seeing signs of struggling businesses or already closed ones.

It is so sad! I am supporting all the small ones I can and hope everyone else is too. I also want to urge people to look at the Costco project with fresh eyes now; we need to welcome this project and others into our town with open arms.

We also need to applaud the people and businesses that are helping other businesses make it through or start up here, like Rosenblum Development, Stuyvesant Plaza, Crossgates, and the Chamber of Commerce. More businesses would be failing if it weren’t for their support.

Again, now that we see the real impact of this virus on business, don’t let it devastate even more than it has. Costco can’t happen soon enough.
