An imitation rifle was seized by police at Jason M. Belleville’s Genmont home, along with his vehicle.

BETHLEHEM — A Glenmont man was arrested on Monday after, police say, he twice blocked a road with his vehicle and pointed an imitation rifle at motorists.

Jason M. Belleville, 40, was charged with menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment — all misdemeanors, according to a release from the Bethlehem Police.

The first incident took place on State Route 9W, at about 3:38 p.m. near Corning Hill Road in Glenmont. At about 3:45 p.m., the release says, Belleville did the same thing on Kenwood Avenue near Delmar Place in Delmar.

Members of the Bethlehem Police Department, along with the Albany County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at Belleville’s residence, the release said; the imitation firearm and vehicle involved in the incidents were seized during the search.

Belleville was arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court and released on his own recognizance. A return date was set for Aug. 17.

The Bethlehem Police Department requests that anyone who thinks they may have been a witness to the crime to contact the department at 518-439-9973.
