Keep cool in Thompsons Lake

The beach at Thompsons Lake in the Helderbergs will remain open till 8 p.m. through July 28, according to a directive from the governor.

Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday announced extended hours for pools and lakes at parks across the the state because of the heat wave.

Also in the Capital Region, Victoria Pool in Saratoga Spa State Park, the swimming pool at Minekill State Park, and beaches at Moreau Lake and Grafton Lakes State Parks will remain open until 8 p.m.

Swimming may be affected by hazardous weather or changing water conditions. Please check State Parks’ website, www.nysparks.com, or call the park directly, to confirm availability.
