Free program helps those with chronic diseases

The Independent Living Center of the Hudson Valley will be offering the Stanford Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP), an evidence-based program designed to provide knowledge and self-efficacy skills for caregivers and for people dealing with chronic conditions.

The CDSMP workshop meets for two-and-a-half hours, once a week, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for six weeks. The workshop will be offered at 646 South Pearl Street in Albany beginning Sept. 15. Each class is taught by two trained leaders.  Workshop participants will learn healthier ways to live, gain confidence and motivation to manage their health, and feel more positive about life. The course is free and anyone with a chronic condition is eligible to participate.
