Quilt show a success

To the Editor:

The Voorheesville Village Quilters’ “Joined by Threads VII Show,” held on July 16 and July 17 at Saint Matthew’s Church in Voorheesville, was a huge success.

Representatives from Ryan's Case for Smiles were present all weekend.  Show attendees had the opportunity to sit down at a sewing machine and make a pillowcase for this most worthwhile  charity.  Piles of pillowcases were made and donated to Ryan's Case for Smiles over the weekend.

A representative from the Guilderland Animal Hospital came to the show and picked up 41 pet mats made by our members for recovering animals.

As a result of the success of this year's show, three local charities will share in our proceeds.  The beneficiaries are Community Caregivers, Ryan's Case for Smiles, and the South End Café of Albany.  Many thanks to all of our local friends who attended and made this such a huge success.
