To the Editor:

I remember working at Denby’s at Stuyvesant Plaza, shopping at Central Market, buying clothes at Hit or Miss and Ormond’s at Stuyvesant! Also working at Lady Madonna Bellini and shopping at Flah’s and Cowen and Lobel.

I remember going to Tina Maria’s for flowers and pies and an occasional beer across the street at Hopper’s Bar!

I remember going to Oceans 11 for dinner at Westmere Plaza, and the Cash and Carry was next door where you brought your own boxes!

I remember going to Loehmann’s at 20 Mall, having lunch at the Menu Restaurant, getting goodies at Golden Crust Bakery, and working as the manager of Clapp’s Card and Book! Also going to Star Market and Rite Aid at Star Plaza.

There was the drive-in theater on Western Avenue, Robert Hall, the “small” Price Chopper where Len Taylor was manager, the library next door to the “small” Price Chopper!

I remember having supper at the Ponderosa, going to Dorato’s (Harry’s Beef and Bottle) after tennis at Capitol Tennis Club on Route 155.

I remember getting videos at Karner Video, shopping at Jordan Marsh and Caldor at Crossgates when they opened and getting pictures printed at One-Hour Photo. I remember Dutch Manor Stable and the Vanguisling home where the hotel is going up now!

There was King’s Service Center, Carroll’s Hamburgers, Tommy Polito’s, Country Squire Motel, Cocoa’s Restaurant, The Bumble Bee, Boardman’s, and Gerald’s.

Having lived in this wonderful town for 48 years and raising our twins here, going through Guilderland schools and attending Christ The King Church, our lives have been full and rich with amazing friends, great memories, many warm wonderful times, and lots of laughs!
