Macy’s Backstage to open in August

GUILDERLAND — Macy’s Backstage, which features bargains, will open at Crossgates Mall on Saturday, Aug. 10.

The new store, with about 14,500 square feet of retail space, will be located on the first level of the full-line Macy’s at Crossgates.

“Macy’s Backstage Crossgates was designed to bring great deals and the fun of the hunt to our existing Crossgates location,” said Michelle Israel, Macy’s senior vice president of Off Price, in a release from Backstage.

Macy’s plans to expand Backstage to 50 additional Macy’s stores, having already set up 165 off-price locations.

Macy’s Backstage is operated by its own buying team, the release said, and merchandise is offered at 20 to 80 percent off traditional department-store prices.
