BETHLEHEM — A third man from Troy — John D. Murdaugh, 17 — was arrested this week in connection with a July 18 Delmar robbery.

He faces the same charges as the two Troy residents — Jevon I. Johnson, 18, and La-Tae D. Wells, 21, — arrested last week: felony counts of first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery, first-degree criminal use of a firearm, and first-degree burglary.

Two men entered a house on Orchard Street in Delmar just before 5 p.m. on July 18, and “displayed what appeared to be a semi-automatic firearm,” stealing money from the victim, according to a release from the Bethlehem Police.

The victim at the residence was uninjured during the incident, the release said.

The suspects fled the scene in a silver pick-up truck, which was located and stopped in Troy by Troy Police, about two hours after the robbery, the release said.

Johnson and Wells were arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court by Judge Andrew Kirby and remanded to Albany County’s jail without bail. Murdaugh was also arraigned by Kirby in Bethlehem Town Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.

The joint investigation into this case is continuing with the Troy Police Department and New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision-Parole.
