When is a weed a W.E.E.D.?
To the Editor:
This is a mullein. It is 8 feet, 7 inches tall and still growing.
Herbalists use it to treat bronchitis, dry cough, asthma, and hoarseness. Recent advances in herbalistic medicine are establishing its health benefits.
Ill informed people refer to it as a weed but maybe W.E.E.D. is more appropriate (Wonderfully Elongated Environmental Delight.)
It is also referred to as “cowboy toilet paper” as its extensive leaves are very soft.
