Helderberg Ambulance welcomes five new members, answers 44 calls
In June, Helderberg Ambulance had 44 calls with 19 transports. There were 30 calls in the town of Berne, 12 in the town of Knox, and two others.
We want to welcome five new members. We are very excited to have new drivers and three new members who will begin their emergency-medical-technician training in August.
July has been a very busy month. The monthly drill was held at Maple on the Lake with a presentation on the medications given by a Basic Life Support agency. The drill was presented by paramedic MaryBeth Pulver. At the drill the squad was introduced to Dr. Kristen Mack, who will serve as the medical director of Helderberg Ambulance. We look forward to working with Dr. Mack.
On July 7, the ambulance and crew were at the Pucker Street Fair in Knox. On July 22, the ambulance will be at Berne Summer Fest at the Berne Town Park. Stop by and visit with the crew.
As you know, the Voorheesville Rescue Squad and the Rensselaerville Rescue Squad have closed due to a lack of members. We would encourage you to attend our meetings and learn how you can become a volunteer. We need drivers, EMTs, and attendants.
To make it easier for the ambulance crew to find your house, please have your house number clearly displayed. Attached is an order form from the Knox Fire Company if you need to order a house number.
