An acceptable risk or sacrificial lamb?
To the Editor:
As reopening moves forward and people begin to return to work, I have to ask: Should employers (private and public) require an employee to return to the office if they have shown they can successfully work from home?
I understand some want to go back to the office, that some need to, that the number of people will be capped along with other precautions. There are a lot of factors that go along with this as well (childcare, pre-existing health conditions, anxiety, etc.) but, are employers asking employees to return to the office just because they can?
Is it an attempt to grasp at what once was? Nostalgia? An acceptable risk or sacrificial lamb?
