Over 100 quilts on display in Voorheesville
NEW SCOTLAND — The Voorheesville Village Quilters are getting ready for their seventh bi-annual quilt show to be held on Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and July 17, at St. Matthew's Church at 25 Mountain View Street in Voorheesville.
The group will have over 100 quilts and other handwork made by the members on display. In addition, visitors will be able to purchase raffle tickets for a large-bed-size quilt made by the members. The winning ticket will be drawn at the end of the show on Sunday.
Several other prizes, donated by show vendors will also be drawn at that time. This year's vendors include Log Cabin Fabrics, Amelia's Garden, and Adirondack Quilts.
The quilters are involved in numerous service projects. During the year, the group invited Ryan's Case for Smiles to one of our meetings. At that meeting, we made over 50 pillowcases for sick children in our area. As a result, we have invited Ryan's Case for Smiles to our show and attendees will have an opportunity to sit down at one of our machines and make a pillowcase to be donated to this most worthwhile cause.
The suggested donation to attend is $5. Partial proceeds of the show will be donated to Ryan's Case for Smiles, Community Caregivers, and the South End Cafe.
