Indian Ladder Farms celebrates its centennial

NEW SCOTLAND — On Sunday, July 17, at noon, Indian Ladder Farms will be unveiling an historical marker commemorating the farm founded in 1916 by Peter Ten Eyck, a former state commissioner of agriculture and a United States Congressman. The farm and apple orchard is now operated by the fourth generation of Ten Eycks.

The Indian Ladder Farmstead Cidery and Brewery will host its grand opening on July 17, made possible by the New York State Farm Brewery Act.

The farm is located at 542 Altamont-Voorheesville Road.  After the historic marker unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Cidery and Brewery, there will be a kick-off for the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy Summer Festival and Hike-a-thon, which takes people on a variety of trails in nearby conservancy preserves and the Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail.
