Altamont Free Library celebrates its centennial

The Altamont Free Library is celebrating its centennial with a Victorian garden party at the Castle Breitenbach.

One hundred years ago this July, the Altamont Free Library opened its doors to the public.

On July 16, 2016, we will raise our glasses to offer Three Cheers for 100 Years, and in appreciation of the more than 100 supporters whose generous contributions to our $100 for 100 Years campaign will help ensure the library continues to thrive at the heart of the Altamont community.

The celebration will include light fare and a cash bar on the grounds of the beautiful Castle Breitenbach.

The public is invited to join the party on July 16. Drop in between 1 and 4 p.m. at the Castle Breitenbach, 809 Township Rd (Route 146), Altamont, NY 12009.  The cost for individuals who have not contributed to the $100 for 100 campaign is $10 per person. To purchase tickets and to confirm attendance (required as space and parking at the Breitenbach site is limited), call the library at (518) 861-7239.

Those interested in adding their names to the list of $100 for 100 Years donors can still contribute to the Altamont Free Library’s Centennial Fund by sending a check to the Altamont Free Library at Post Office Box 662, Altamont, NY 12009 or by visiting http://www.altamontfreelibrary.org/programs-and-events/centennial.
