Free tennis lessons for kids

RENSSELAERVILLE — Free tennis lessons for kids ages 7 to 18 will be led by professional coach Jim Neal Saturday mornings at the playground court in the village of Rensselaerville.

Lessons begin at 10:30 a.m. on July 8, 15, 22, 29 and Aug. 5, 12 and 19. Participants may attend all or some of the lessons. They must wear sneakers. Loaner racquets will be made available to those who need them. To express interest or for more information, email tennisforkids@forpr.net.

Coach Neal is expert in starting players out and improving the tennis of kids already playing. His students and school teams regularly go to state competition and individual players garner MVP [Most Valuable Player] awards on their school teams.

“Best of all he makes his lessons fun for kids at all levels,” said a notice announcing the lessons, which are funded by the annual Rensselaerville Labor Day Tennis Tournament.
